On August 25, 1925, a group of 13 Christians met at Gantt’s Chapel to organize Victory Baptist Church in the Craggy Community.
On September 6, 1925, with Rev. Everett Sprinkle as Pastor, a tract of land was donated by H.K. Rhodes, on which a cement block building was erected. At this time, membership had grown to 29. The Church was a simple one-room building with no pews.
By 1927, the membership had grown to 111. They soon realized they would outgrow the church building, and members started planning for a new structure. The land was purchased in 1947 and work began on the existing structure on September 5, 1949. Although much work remained for completion, the first service was held on November 27, 1949.
Church and Sunday School attendance continued to increase and on July 12, 1964, work began on an educational building. This building was completed in January 1965.
With increased attendance additional space became necessary to enlarge the sanctuary. The addition was completed and dedicated on January 1, 1978.
In March 1978 the church adopted its first constitution and by-laws.
